Basic security guard training in Ontario is at least 40 hours and includes emergency first aid and CPR. It must come from an approved training provider listed on ontario.ca.

Ontario Security License is operated by Lion Guard Corporation, which the Ministry of the Solicitor General lists as a basic training provider under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005.
